Frequently Asked Questions

You’ve Got Questions. We’ve Got Answers.

What does Country Bark supply for overnight boarding?

We provide food/water bowls, beds/blankets, and we have leashes/harnesses on hand for walks.  It is not required, but we invite you to bring your pet's bed, blanket, toys, harness, or anything else that will help them feel comfortable.  Please make sure that your pet is wearing a collar with tags upon their arrival.  For their safety, please keeps pets on a leash at all times during drop off and pick up.

To save your pet from digestive upset, we ask that you bring their normal food.  Plan to bring just enough food for their stay plus one extra day's worth.  If your pet's food runs out, we will provide kibble at an extra cost of $2/day.

How can I check on my pet during their stay?

We provide updates to pet parents via text or email throughout their dog's stay.  Also, we provide a summary of every dog's visit, including photos, at check out.  Pet owners are welcome to check up on their dog at any time by calling or sending a text or email to us.

My pet has a special diet, special needs, or takes medication. Can their needs be accommodated?

We personalize our service so that each dog receives everything they need to be comfortable and safe during their stay.  At check in, we discuss any special needs and maintain the feeding schedule that each pet is used to at home as closely as possible.  At no extra cost, we are happy to administer oral or topical medications prescribed by a veterinarian.

What if my pet has a medical emergency?

Safety and health are paramount at Country Bark.  That's why we require that each guest is up to date with rabies, bordatella, parvovirus, distemper, and leptospirosis vaccinations.  Because we are located in the countryside, we highly recommend that pets be on a flea and tick prevention program.

Upon check in, pet parents fill out a form to let us know how to quickly get in touch with them in case of emergency.  We also ask for a secondary emergency contact as well as their veterinarian's information.  If your pet experiences a medical emergency we will immediately contact you or those you specify.  If the emergency is of grave concern, we will swiftly and safely transport your pet to the nearest emergency veterinary hospital.

My pet is not spayed/neutered.  Can they board at country bark?

We understand that not all pets are spayed or neutered and that intact pets may exhibit behaviors that need special consideration.  Therefore, we do allow intact dogs on a case by case basis.  Please get in touch to schedule a time to bring your pet for a tour so that we can determine if our facility is appropriate for them.
